Music for film score |
I'm sure this has come up, but can one use any archive.org music/audio files for a film project (film score). The film is, hopefully, being distributed commercially.

Re: Music for film score |
strictly speaking, you have to look at the type of CC license. see what kinds of licenses are OK for reuse in commercial works:
http://creativecommons.org/about/licenses/meet-the-licensesyou also can reuse works that are in public domain.

Re: Music for film score |
Is it easy to find CC licenses that are suitable for my film project? Is it easy to see what is public, and is that definitely usable for a film? I'm new to the site. Thanks for your reply.

Re: Music for film score |
i guess it's not that easy. i'd start by looking for type or genre of music and see if anything has license that fits. there is the way to search for works with specific license type, but you'll get too long list of results.
for example:
search for "no derivs" license within audiosearch for "share-alike" license within audioif license is not clearly stated i guess you'd have to contact the author and ask him.

Thank you! I guess I'll have to spend some time searching.
